These instructions are updated to reflect Windows 11. They replace older references to legacy Start menus and search behavior while preserving UHCL printer server usage.
Method 1: Add Printer via Printer Server (Recommended)
- Press Windows Key or click the Start button.
- In the search bar, type \\uhclprinting and press Enter.
- A list of available network printers will appear, sorted by building and room number. Example: B1321-Canon or B1321.01-A-C.
- Locate your printer and double-click it.
- Windows 11 will automatically install the printer.
- If prompted to install or trust the driver, select Yes.
Method 2: Add Printer via Settings (If Needed)
- Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
- Click Add device.
- If the printer does not appear, select Add manually.
- Choose Select a shared printer by name.
- Enter: \\uhclprinting\PrinterName and click Next.
- Allow the driver to install when prompted.
Troubleshooting
- If the printer does not appear, confirm it is powered on and connected to the UHCL network.
- Some printers may be listed under alternate building abbreviations (e.g., SSCB under E or S).
- Contact the UHCL Support Center if installation fails.
