Summary
This article explores the evolving landscape of online education and the importance of providing effective feedback to students. It highlights three innovative tools within Canvas that are reshaping the feedback process.
Content
Canvas includes three features or tools that faculty can use to provide an enhanced level of feedback to students on their assignments, activities, and assessments:
- Text Expanders (Canvas Comment Library): This feature streamlines the feedback process, enabling instructors to provide detailed, custom-tailored feedback quickly and consistently.
- Audio-Visual Feedback (Media Comments): This method offers a dynamic and engaging approach to feedback, allowing for more extended and detailed comments that foster a deeper understanding of students' work.
- Voice-to-Text Tools (Chrome Speech Recognition in SpeedGrader): This technology bridges the gap between spoken communication and written feedback, making it easier for instructors to provide comprehensive and clear guidance to their students.
Using these tools, instructors can provide more meaningful and engaging feedback, ultimately enriching the educational experience for both students and faculty.
