Overview
UHCL Zoom services will be retired on June 30, 2026. Faculty, staff, and students who wish to retain Zoom cloud recordings should download and save their recordings before the service end date.
Important: Any recordings stored in UHCL Zoom may no longer be accessible after June 30, 2026. Download any recordings you wish to keep prior to the retirement date.
Step 1: Sign in to Zoom
- Navigate to the UHCL Zoom portal.
- Sign in using your UHCL credentials.
- Select Recordings from the navigation menu.
Step 2: Locate Your Cloud Recordings
- Select the Cloud Recordings tab.
- Browse or search for the recordings you wish to retain.
- Open the desired recording.
Step 3: Download the Recording
- Select the Download option.
- Save the recording to your computer.
- Repeat for any additional recordings you wish to keep.
Recommended Storage Locations
After downloading your recordings, UHCL recommends storing them in a supported university storage location such as:
- Microsoft OneDrive
- Microsoft SharePoint
- A departmental file share (if applicable)
Uploading Recordings to OneDrive
- Sign in to Microsoft 365.
- Open OneDrive.
- Select Upload.
- Choose the downloaded Zoom recording file.
- Wait for the upload to complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will my Zoom recordings automatically transfer to Microsoft Teams?
No. Zoom recordings will not automatically migrate to Microsoft Teams. Recordings must be downloaded and uploaded manually if you wish to retain them.
Can I continue accessing my recordings after June 30, 2026?
Users should not assume recordings will remain available after the Zoom retirement date. Download any recordings you need before June 30, 2026.
What file format are Zoom recordings downloaded in?
Most Zoom recordings are downloaded as MP4 video files.
