Yes. Even after UHCL's Zoom service ends, you may still participate in Zoom meetings hosted by external organizations.
Participation Options
- Join meetings using a personal Zoom account.
- Join meetings as a guest through a web browser.
- Use a Meeting ID provided by the meeting organizer.
Limitations
- Free Zoom accounts may have time restrictions.
- Free Zoom services are not covered by UHCL support.
- Zoom is not approved for sharing protected university information after the service transition.
Security Reminder
Do not share HIPAA-protected information, FERPA-protected information, personally identifiable information (PII), or financial information through non-approved Zoom services.
Recommended Alternative
Use Microsoft Teams whenever possible for university business, instruction, and collaboration.
