How do I Automatically Send My Teams Recordings to My EchoVideo (Echo360) Library?

Summary

This article explains how to connect Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and EchoVideo so that Teams meeting recordings automatically upload to your EchoVideo Library.

After recording a meeting (saved to OneDrive), you must subscribe EchoVideo to your OneDrive “Recordings” folder. Once set up, all new recordings transfer automatically, but older recordings must be uploaded manually.

If you use Microsoft Teams for your synchronous class meetings, you can configure EchoVideo to automatically import those recordings directly from OneDrive. Once enabled, every new Teams recording will appear in your EchoVideo Library.

Follow the steps below to set up the full Teams-OneDrive-EchoVideo automation. Steps 1 and 2 are to ensure that you have the Recordings folder in your OneDrive.

Step 1: Schedule and Record a Test Meeting in Microsoft Teams

You can schedule your Teams meeting however you prefer:

  • Using the Teams Calendar
  • Creating ad-hoc (instant) meetings
  • Scheduling recurring class meetings

All meeting types will work as long as the recording is saved to your OneDrive.

Step 2: Teams Automatically Saves the Recording to OneDrive

By default, when you record a standard Teams meeting, Teams saves the files to your Recordings folder in OneDrive.

EchoVideo will not receive your recordings until you subscribe to this folder.

Step 3: Subscribe EchoVideo to the OneDrive “Recordings” Folder

(This is the key step that enables automatic transfer.)

  1. Log in to https://go.uhcl.edu and click the Echo Tile.

Once saved, EchoVideo will automatically ingest any new Teams recordings that appear in that folder (or video files placed in that folder).

Additional Resources and Important Notes

  • You only need to subscribe once per folder.
  • All new Teams meeting recordings saved to that folder will be imported automatically into your EchoVideo Library.
  • Existing OneDrive Recordings Will Not Auto-Transfer
    • EchoVideo will only ingest new Teams meeting recordings from the moment you enable the OneDrive subscription.
    • Any recordings that were already in your OneDrive Recordings folder before you set up the subscription will not automatically import.
    • If you want those past recordings in EchoVideo, you will need to manually upload them to your EchoVideo Library.  For information on manually uploading videos to your EchoVideo Library, please see EchoVideo: Uploading Media
