Adding Network Shared Directories on macOS (Tahoe 26.1)

This document provides instructions for connecting to Windows-based network shared directories on modern versions of macOS, including macOS Tahoe 26.1. It is intended for training and informational purposes.

  1. Open Connect to Server: Open Finder, click Go in the menu bar, then select Connect to Server (⌘ + K).
  2. Enter the Network Address: In the Server Address field, enter the network path using the SMB protocol. Example: smb://admfiles/Directory/Sub-Directory. Click Connect.
  3. Authenticate: Select Registered User and log in using UHCL\UserID and your UHCL password. Avoid saving the password in Keychain if your password changes regularly.
  4. Select the Shared Folder: If prompted, choose the correct shared directory and click OK.
  5. Save for Future Use: Click the plus (+) icon in the Connect to Server window to add the server to Favorites for quicker access later.
