Content

UHCL's Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) team coordinates training and support for faculty, staff, and student Canvas users. Through the IDT team, faculty and staff have access to introductory, intermediate, and advanced training on Canvas and its many tools and features.

Introductory Canvas Training Options

Faculty who are new to Canvas LMS or who would like a refresher in its use are invited to select from the following two modes of introductory/basic Canvas training.

  • 100% Asynchronous Self-Paced Online (Growing with Canvas)

    • Access the training shell and a sandbox shell for practice.
    • IMPORTANT: Email the team upon course completion.
  • Hybrid Video-Based Training

    • Part 1: Attend a 30-minute Orientation Session (in-person or virtual) at 9:30 AM Friday.
    • Part 2: Watch two ~45-minute videos and complete embedded questions anytime between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM Friday.
    • Part 3: Attend a 60-minute Capstone Session (in-person or virtual) at 3:00 PM Friday.

  • Access: Through the Canvas Training Portal (Help menu in Canvas).
