Adding items to a Canvas module helps organize course content into a structured learning path. Instructors can create new assignments, pages, discussions, or quizzes directly within a module or add existing items, ensuring students have easy access to all required materials in one place.
Step 1: Open Your Course and Navigate to Modules
- From the course navigation menu, click Modules.
Step 2: Locate the Module
- Find the module where you want to add content.
Step 3: Click the “+” Button
- On the right side of the module header, click the + icon to add an item.
Step 4: Choose the Item Type
- In the pop-up window, select the type of item you want to add (e.g., Assignment, Page, Discussion, Quiz, External URL).
Step 5: Add Existing or Create New
- To add an existing item, select it from the list.
- To create a new item, click [New], enter a name, and configure basic settings.
Step 6: Set Options and Add Item
- Choose whether to indent the item and click Add Item.
Step 7: Publish the Item
- After adding, click the Publish icon to make it visible to students.
