Process for updating licenses
Body
- Before starting the license renewal process you will need a valid PRVS file (Concurrent use license file). This file is obtained through the ESRI ArcGIS website.
- Log into the on-premise GISPortal-PRI server.
- Place the PRVS license file on the server for later use. C:\Temp is a good location. NOTE: Kurt and Mike are coming up with the details on server login stuff.
- Start the License Server Administrator located in the ARCGIS group.
- To see the current status of the licenses click on “Availability”. Each “Feature” can be clicked on for more details.
- Click on “Authorization” to start the license renewal process.
- Use the “Version” drop down and choose “Pro 1.4-2.6” (or the current version).
- Choose “Authorize Now”.
- Check “I have received an authorization file and am now ready to finish the authorization process”.
- Browse to and select the most recent PRVS license file.
- Choose “ArcGIS Pro” if an option needs to selected. It may be greyed out.
- Click “Next”.
- Select “Authorize with ERSI now using the Internet.
- Click “Next”.
- Authorization Information should be filled with Jeff Lash’s info.
- Click “Next”.
- “Authorization Information – Continued”.
- Your Organization, select “Education Staff/Faculty”.
- Your Industry, select “Higher Education”
- Yourself, select “IT Manager/Supervisor”.
- Click “Next”.
- “Software Authorization Number”. ArcGIS Desktop Advanced. No. of Licenses should be set to 50 or whatever the license is for.
- Click “Next”.
- Authorize Software Extensions. “I have authorization number(s) to authorize one or more extensions. Should be pre-filled in.
- Click “Next”.
- Authorizing Software. Communication to and from cloud authorization server should occur. If successful a congratulation message should appear to authorize the software.
- Click “Finish”. The licenses will be “re-read” and loaded.
- Click on “Availability” to see the products and license statuses.
- To verify the current status of the licenses, click on “Availability”. Each “Feature” can be clicked on for more details.
